Shopping

Those that know me should really appreicate this and get a good laugh.

Micah, for some reason, took all the 4 older children to the park today and left me to do whatever I wanted with Savannah. I decided I should spend money, becuase that's what women do best, right? I loaded up and went to the mall. I started to get pretty scared when I saw how bad traffic was at the mall and Regency traffic light, but gathered up my courage and decided to continue on. I am a big girl, I can do this! I remember it's Christmas time, so ..... the mall's gonna be packed on a saturday, duh!

I know that I want to go to JCPenny becuase they have the Arizona brand jeans that Micah Jr. and Jonas want. All is going well and I find a good spot to park between two doors that I thought lead into JCPenny. I'm looking around at some Quicksilver t-shirts for the boys when a lady asks me if I need any help. I tell her "Yes," and ask, "Where are the Arizona brand jeans located?" She informs me they don't carry those jeans, but she thinks Sears does. I tell her, "No, JCPenny carries that brand." And she tells me 'good luck' and walks off. I begin to wonder where on earth it is that I am. I continue to shop and wonder where I could be. It must not be JCPenny becuase it is the only department store that has a layout I'm even slightly familar with, wherever I am at for now, I'm just wandering around trying to appear that I know how to shop. You know, do things like find a bargain, care about stuff, and fit in with my environment. By now, I was sweating so I decided to buy something. The Lady rang up my item and put it in a bag. Thank heaven's! I'm in Dillards! The bag just told me so and I never even had to ask!

Somehow, I make it to JCPenny and buy the jeans I came here for. Like a man, I walk straight to I want, grab it, and buy it. I notice as it rings up that it was on sale. See, I do know how to find a good bargain!

Exit store and look for DSW Shoes. Once again I am totally lost. I remember when I was very little and got lost at the county fair, I almost start to cry and swear that I will NEVER come to the mall again without my mom or Christen, when I snap out of of it. I'm responsible for another life (Savannah) and I don't have time to get emotional. After consulting a mall map I discover there is no entrance to DSW Shoes from inside the mall. That's ok, Christen wears a shirt I like she says she bought at Dick's Sporting Goods. I decided to walk through there to get to DSW Shoes. As I walk in I realize that Christen may have said she bought it at Sports Authority and besides, I don't remember what brand it is, and feel to overwhelmed to try looking. I came to the mall for some new tennis shoes, I need to stop losing focus and just head to the store. I guess it's a neat store, but I'll probably never go there any time soon. I find nothing, and Savannah fusses. It's all the inspiration I need to tell me it's time to go home.

Ahh! Some fresh air. A nice walk outside to the van, feeling cool in th 78 degree weather, and we make it to the van. Not bad. I shopped for a full hour and a half! Spending money, a.k.a. shopping, is not what I do best at all!

The worst part is, have you noticed how ugly people dress? Perfectly goodlooking people dressing in the horrible fashion from the 80's. It was bad then, we really don't need a repeat. Apparently I'm a snob, becuase the few kids I saw in clothes like Hollister and something else are more in my taste. I'm noticing a lot of Edith Sprangly bags (a.k.a. Vera Bradley) as I proudly sport one of my very own over my left shoulder. Maybe, when I don't have any babies, I'll at least learn to appreciate shopping. I mean, my goodness, when you shop the reward is a great new bag, that sweet pair of Converse shoes I want to get one day, and the feeling like for an hour and a half you accomplished something. The three bags of stuff I left with prove it!

Oh my goodness, I love shopping but I do so much of it online these days that I don't know how to shop instore anymore. I often have to stop tears and hissy fits. I can relate to this so much. It was an hilarious read, yet emotional too considering I could feel your pain!
